Hey, sorry It's been so long that I posted on my countdown, the last few days have been pretty busy.

But alas here is my number 5# for 2013

Or Thor 2,  releases 11.8.13 (right before my birthday!) the Sequel to 2011's "Thor" which I found to be immensely enjoyable. And a great starter film, if a little light for a film about the god of thunder.
but with a title like "The Dark World" this one should be a little edgier. as of now there is not much else known about the film aside from speculation. The Dark World could be refereeing to Svartalfheim, home of the Dark Elves, (basically elves with Purple Skin) or  Muspelheim. the realm of eternal fire. or Niffelheim. basically Asguardian hell. or something else entirety. once more is revealed this could move higher.. or maybe lower. but I loved Thor, and I have a feeling that this will be even better.

and my 2013 6# is

Releases 5.3.13

Well, The Avengers was like the best movie ever.. so I'm pretty much ecstatic when you mention a "Marvel" movie, now. and the is my first truly official anticipated film to be on this list, so it's all gravy from here on up. however, Iron Man 2 was a bit of a letdown compared to the first but it was still a solid film for the most but, but certainly seem to be getting back on track with Thor, Captain America, and of course the Avengers, apparently Tony will faces off against Mandarin, his' Arch Enemy. an scientific genius. also, the Iron Patriot apparently appears as well. so at the least I think this will be an improvement over Iron Man 2. with Marvel.. the Stars seem to be the limit though. lets hope they can keep their momentum up!

My 2013 7#

Despicable Me 2 Releases 7.3.12

Well there's not really much to say about this one. for one thing, there's not really much information about the film.  But Gru's Back! and so are the minions, lets just hope this one can be as funny touching and cute as the last one.

And now for my Number 8# most anticipated film of 2013

 Releases 11.1.13

70 years after an alien invasion on Earth, mankind, has began finding genius children to train in zero-g
combat and tactical strategy games, Ender Wiggin is chosen the youngest of three as the savoir for mankind.. and the annihilator for the Aliens..

I read this book I read about a year ago, and found very intriguing to say the least, if a little graphic for focusing on such small children (Ender is 5 in the beginning in goes through most of his younger childhood during most of the book.) of course they got an older actor to him him in the film, and it will most likely be toned down in the film, and with some great actors on board like Harrison Ford, Viola Davis and Hailee Steinfeld. along with what I've seen so far of the set, this movie as got me very interested, it could be one of the best movies of the year or a major flop. most likely somewhere in-between. I shall have to wait and see I guess.

Shooting in Colorado at "Dark Knight" Screening

An awful tragedy occurred last night at the midnight screening for The Dark Knight Rises, in Colorado, 12 people were shot and killed and over 50 injured. the suspected killer was arrested shortly afterward. just wanted to say something. about it in respect for those who were affected by this massacre , and to think the families and friends who have lost their loves ones and lift them up in prayer, that they would tale this time to drawl close to God, the only true comfort in a time of trouble.

"The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble."

The movies are suppose to be a time of relaxing and enjoyment, this is just sad and sick in every-way.

2013 9# is.

 Releases 3.29.13

First set for June 29th this year. paramount apparently decided the release schedule for this summer was to crowded. and moved at all the way back to March 29th 2013. weather is good for the financial success of the film, I'm not sure. but they did it nonetheless, now I liked the Original film, even if it was a little campy okay alot, but it had some great action sequences and neat visuals. that and the trailer for this one looks really cool, Ditching most of the original cast usually would be a bad thing. not so for this one, with Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis, to the mix, a more serious tone (not to serious). this movie actually looks pretty good. I'm excited for it.

Okay folks now we are getting into my top 10 for next year, be warned I might start to sound excited (probably not too much until I hit 6# ;))
and my Number 10# for 2013 is...

Releases 7.26.13

The sequel; somewhat spin-off (?) to 2009s' X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Takes the clawed mutant to Japan Where he Faces off against Samurai's and gets a new love interest.

I liked the first wolverine, I know alot of people didn't. but overall it was a enjoyable intense action movie... full of contradictions, and even some character hacking. (haha!) and come on, it's a superhero movie! (One of my favorite movie genres in case you don't know me.) They should be able to do better then that. In 2X to flashbacks, saying Logan/Wolverine would have no memory after the procedure to turns is excel-skeleton  to steel, or more actually antamantum. Where in Wolverine he still has his memory afterwards, and doesn't lose it till he gets shot in the head, with an antamantum bullet. come on! not to mention turning Deadpool into some sort of mad scientist experiment. but enough of that, lets talk about the new movie. now I love Wolverine, but after four X-men movies staring him, he can get a little old. Nonetheless I'll still be seeing this when it comes out next summer. (cause i just can't help myself!) and they say they are suppose to be taking it into a different direction. if that direction is good and close the the source materiel this could be a really good movie, but I'll have to wait and see.

2013 11# Most anticipated films is..

                                                                       Releases 7.3.13
Well what it's about is pretty self explanatory, The Lone Ranger, and Tonto, his Indian Side Kick. played by Johnny Deep. Now I know very little about the Lone Ranger. and never really watched the show, but it is Diseny, and apparently, it has a budget exceeding $200m. ($50m is probably going to Johnny) but I like Westerns and this should be one film I will definitely want to catch next summer.

And My 12# of 2013 is

Releases 3.8.13

Taking place before "The Wizard of Oz" this story focuses on the Oz himself finding the magical land, and how he becomes the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. (haha)

Now I'm not a big fan of The original film. And not long ago had little interest in this film. (of course there wasn't much about it until now), but with Sam Raimi the director of Spider-Man and the producers of Alice In Wonderland" behind this, it should at least be a visual treat. and if anyone knows how to work their film magic it's Disney.

and 2013 13# most anticipated film is:

 Releases 5.24.13

premise a teenage girl is transported to a forest where the forces of good and evil face off, (and she appears to be tiny)

from blue sky animation the studio that brought you the "Ice Age" films and "Horton Hears a Who!" now this is Number 13# and I wouldn't really say that I'm exactly "Anticipating it" but I've Always been fascinated with tiny people in forest settings and the Trailer   http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0848537/ looks promising and I would say this is a worthy title for the 13# spot (Jack the Giant Killer Almost made this list which also as my interest.) but for new I'll go with Epic.

Okay, with comic con going on right now, it makes me psyched for what the future of  film as to hold, or more notably 2013.. yeah can you believe it, it's just around the corner. so I'm going to list and bits of why I want to see, my top 13 most anticipated films of 2013 of course it may change a bit but for now, I'll try and be as accurate as I can on what I want to see most. (as 2013 approaches I might do a revised list)

oh and on that top 25 favorite films I still plan on making it but it turned out to be harder putting together then I thought, for one thing finding for sure what they are ! but I'll get to it eventually.

and I would also like to note, that Legend of Korra, the new tv series from Nickelodeon has 52 episodes lined up now!! I love the show it's so amazing especially for an animated series and I can't wait for season 2 to air!!

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Hey, everyone, Happy Fourth of July!  I know I was going to do my top 10 favorite movies of all time (which is probably turning out to be top 25 now BTW)

But I just Saw “The Amazing Spider-Man” today and kind of wanted to review it while it’s fresh in my mind. I’ll try and leave it as spoiler free as I can, but there may be some minor spoilers below. Be warned.

                                                          The Amazing Spider-Man

Let’s just say I went into the theater not really sure what to except, for one thing the original “Spider-Man” was in my opinion one of the best superhero movies ever. In fact it’s in part because of Spider-Man that I got into the superhero genre. Nevertheless, I made sure to keep an open mind when I went into the theater to see the new take on the web spinning hero.  Boy was I surprised, from the very beginning of the movie of was hooked or more accurately webbed (:B). It begins with peter as a small boy, apparently playing hide and seek. Then he finds his dad’s office sabotaged. After this his parents leave him in the care of his loving Aunt May and Uncle Ben, played wonderfully by Sally Field and Martin Sheen. But the real actor who stole the show IMO was in fact Pater Parker himself, played flawlessly by Andrew Garfield. Now I loved Toby Maguire’s performance in the originals (save Spidey 3). But Andrew may actually be the better Peter. He comes across as soft spoken, and sometimes awkward, but very witty and is actually the main source of comic relief in the movie, with quirky one-liners, and shy attempts at wooing his high school crush, Gwen Stacy (played by Emma Stone). The best thing about him, is you can feel what he’s going through just by his body language, or small gestures. You know he’s just a good person, if somewhat conflicted and lost over not knowing what happened to his parents or why they left him.
Now to Emma stone. I loved her in her role, she was witty and mature, and also very pretty as Gwen Stacy and only added more heart to the movie. Rhy Ifans plays the villain The Lizard, and Dr. Curt Conners (who is missing arm BTW). He does a fine job as well, but he seemed a bit familiar, a little to close to the Green Goblen in the original. Now for the visuals. They really were amazing. The camera flowed and kind of danced across the scenes like a spinning web.  Made it feel very stylish, some of the scenery itself was quite dazzling and there was also a big 1960s retro feel to the film; the score especially (which was great also, although I’m not sure if it could top the original theme), emphasized this. And when he swung across buildings you could almost feel the sensation  of flying through the air. I also had the pleasure of seeing it in 3D. Some of the scenes did actually pop out of the screen, although there was a relatively small amount of action sequences and many scenes had almost no 3D at all to them (which is fine), so it’s probably almost just as enjoyable in 2D.  The only big issue I had was a lot of the movie was very similar to the first Spider-Man. But most of the similar issues were well portrayed- some even better; it definitely had more emotional depth, at least on a personal level. Of course I seem to be comparing it to the first Spider-Man a lot, but I guess it’s kind of hard not to. I mean it did only come out 10 years ago. So, yes, overall it wasn’t only a solid re-imaging, but possibly one of the best superhero movies to date. I loved it. Go see “The Amazing Spider-Man”.
